The FBE deplores the death penalty and is horrified by the increase in the number of executions in Iran. Over 400 people have been executed this year, 15 of whom were women. 

The FBE calls upon all members to oppose the death penalty and to make representations on 10th October 2024, the Death Penalty Day, with their own governments, and to join world wide condemnation of the death penalty and the executions in Iran.
