Constitution of the Administrative Law Commission FBE

Dear President, Dear Colleague,

I am pleased to inform you that the Barcelona Bar Association is hosting the Administrative Law Commission of the European Bars Federation (FBE),  approved by the General Assembly which took place in Malaga last June.

I would like to detail below the main objectives of the Commission I have the honor to preside:

1. – Support for legal professionals and exchange of best practices:

– It Will provide a platform for support and professional development for FBE Members specializing in Administrative Law, as well as for those starting out in the specialty, promoting continuous training and access to shared resources.

– It will enable the exchange of best practices among the Bar Members, promoting the adoption of more efficient and transparent administrative procedures throughout Europe.

2. Protection of Citizens’ Rights:

By improving and unifying administrative law practices, the protection of citizens’ rights will be strengthened, so that they receive fair, equitable and equal treatment before public administrations.

3. Harmonization of regulations and influence on European legislation:

The Commission will be able to act as a consultative body providing valuable information and recommendations for:

Harmonizing regulations and practices, thereby facilitating greater consistency and mutual understanding between jurisdictions.

Policy and legislative development at the European level, ensuring that the perspectives and administrative needs of member countries are taken into account.

Responding with effective strategies to common administrative challenges facing Europe, such as the digitization of public services.

4. Strengthening the Rule of Law:

A more coherent and collaborative approach to administrative law will contribute to strengthening the rule of law in Europe, promoting fairness, transparency and accountability in public administration.

We would like to inform you that we are currently setting up this Commission, so I would be grateful if you could let me know if any Member of your Bar would be interested in being an active member. Our goal is to have as many countries as possible represented.

We are very grateful for your collaboration.

Best regards.
