The General Assembly of the FBE on 19 November 2022 in Palermo, Italy resolved:

Our Federation of Bar Associations of Europe represents over 1 million lawyers through their local and national representative organisations,

With knowledge of the violation of human rights of women in Iran and Afghanistan,

With knowledge of the harrasment and  detention of lawyers who are representing all those who are defending their human rights,

The FBE has grave concern for this violation of fundamental rights and express our solidarity with the lawyers involved in the defense,

The FBE calls on governments to uphold human rights and fundamental freedoms recognized by national and international law.
